Statement:
My hope is that upon viewing the audience will think of Kierkegaard's assertion that "Life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced." These words echo the sentiment of Inner Voices: that although our struggles may be elusive, we may hope to find peace of mind as we continue the journey towards fulfillment. This lesson of acceptance has brought me harmony in my own life and I hope through this work I might share it with all others who are lost and alone, trapped in feelings of powerlessness.

Dr. Bethany French
-
Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Abeni Tinubu grew up submerged in the arts. However, she truly found a home in the theatre in her high school years. At her core, Abeni is a storyteller, and though she is constantly exploring new mediums, acting has always been her preferred way of expressing a narrative. Abeni enjoys both comedic and dramatic roles, and she looks forward to continuing to tell stories that showcase Black women with the nuance and care that they deserve.

As a huge proponent of mental health, I'm always intrigued by stories that advocate for therapy and help make discourse around mental health more mainstream and acceptable. However, even with all the advancements within psychology, trained professionals don't always have all the answers, which is why I was drawn to Inner Voices. I approached Dr. French as someone who was highly intelligent and by the book, but not so egotistical that she wouldn't be open to not having said answers. I love the levity that Inner Voices brought to a serious subject matter and I'm grateful to have worked with the talented team on the project.

Being part of Inner Voices has really helped my craft as I was able to learn about a completely different point of view. Working with Duncan and his production team has been a joy. Duncan is a very lovable, kind, and dedicated director. His passion truly shows when working with him. I can assure you that anyone who has worked with Duncan can attest to that.
